British filmmaker Carol Morley presents a refreshing alternative to the filmed memoir with this courageous exploration of her past life as a fixture of Manchester’s music and club scene of the early 1980s. Nearly twenty years later, she films her old friends and lovers as they recount outrageous, funny, sad and sometimes contradictory stories, in which Morley is remembered for a legacy of promiscuous sex and alcohol. What emerges is an impressionistic collective biography, which doubles as a heartfelt record of a lost moment in time.
